This Surface Pro has given me a headache – but a good headache. Right now, I’m feeling “overknowledged” because my computer has activated parts of my brain I haven’t used in many years. I feel uncomfortable with it at the moment, but I know it is opening up my world and giving me new skills that are empowering me to learn. I am so grateful to receive this. After my workplace accident in 2014, I became a shell of myself. I left school in my early teens, and I felt like I didn’t have any skills to do more than what I was doing. When I couldn’t do my job anymore, I fell into a dark place. When this Health and Safety Level 4 course was presented to me, I thought I couldn’t do it. I didn’t know anything about computers or how to learn anymore. What I did know was that I didn’t want anyone else to go through what I had been through, and I wanted to help “the little man.”This Surface Pro has given me the access and ability to do my studies and fulfill my dream. Last week, I didn’t even know what a double-click was. However, last night, I attended my first lesson on Microsoft Teams on my Surface Pro from Tumai Digital all by myself.Thank you, Tumai Digital, for this tool that has reignited my brain’s ability to learn. With hard work, it will enable me to pass my course so I can help “the little man.”

Through Tu Mai Digital our whānau received the chance to have our home internet connected and we were also privileged enough to be gifted a laptop. As my daughter is going through NCEA, this has helped immensely with her mahi kainga and keeping up to date with her schoolwork and studies. Thank you for alleviating what could have been a very stressful situation for our household. As I’m sure you can appreciate with the cost of basic living these days, I’m not sure we would have been able to afford to supply my daughter with these. Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou Poutiri Trust, nā te Whānau.

I would like to thank you for the referral to Tu Mai Digital for the refurbished laptop. I'm currently on a Home Detention Sentence and I am also going through court proceedings in the Family Court, fighting to get my children back. However, in the meantime, apart from my obligations with court, corrections and probation, I'm left with a lot of time on my hands and not much else to do. So I decided to enrol in an online course with The Career Academy and I'm studying for a Diploma in Psychology and Counselling to further my education as well as a fresh start in life as I have no qualifications whatsoever. Because I'm so limited with my movements and access to study while on sentence it's been an absolute game changer for me having the laptop. I can now easily access the internet for my course, study information, I am able to easily complete my exams and essays and another thing is it's another form of communication for me with my family and children through social media. So again thank you Lisa and the people at Tu Mai Digital for making things like these accessible to the people who really need the help.
